If you already possess the competence required for a specific IECEx Certification of Personnel Competence (CoPC) unit, you may proceed directly to the assessment and examination process. HAZLOC International Institute of Training Pty Ltd recognises that many professionals have extensive experience in hazardous area work and are ready to have their competence formally assessed. Our certification pathway allows eligible candidates to demonstrate their existing knowledge and practical capability without the need for additional preparation or prior training.
Selecting Units of Competence
Candidates applying for IECEx Certification of Personnel Competence (CoPC) have the flexibility to select individual or combined units of competence that best reflect their qualifications, experience, and current or intended work roles.
The IECEx Scheme does not require candidates to complete a fixed group of units — each unit is independently assessed and certified, allowing applicants to build a portfolio of competence that aligns with their career pathway.
When selecting units, candidates must ensure they meet the prerequisite requirements for each unit of competence. These prerequisites are designed to verify that the candidate possesses the relevant knowledge, practical experience, and background necessary to successfully demonstrate competence in the chosen area.
HAZLOC International Institute of Training can facilitate assessment for any permissible combination of IECEx CoPC units, provided the candidate meets the prerequisite requirements relating to prior experience, technical understanding, and evidence of competency.
